Patient Care/Clinic Co-ordinator

Focus is a specialist laser eye clinic located in the Harley Street enclave in central London. We are a close knit team of consultant surgeons and optometrists who are dedicated to delivering safe refractive eye surgery, giving excellent results and aftercare.

We are looking for a dynamic individual for a one year maternity contract to cover both of these important roles. The individual will be required to cover the Patient Care Co-ordinator role for 3 months, and then take over to cover the Clinic Co-ordinator role for 9 months. Full training for both roles will be provided.

The Patient Care Co-ordinator role is responsible for delivering an outstanding level of personal care and support to all our patients. The role is incredibly important as it is helping change patients’ lives every day. They work closely with our surgeons and optometrists to form a strong relationship to deliver exceptional patient care. A comprehensive period of training and guidance will be provided so to fully understand the experience given to our patients.

The Clinic Co-ordinator role is the first point of contact for patients, they carry out the important role of monitoring and facilitating the information flow, coordinating patient visits to the Clinic and providing administrative support for a range of activities including telephone handling, scheduling appointment diaries and welcoming patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Counselling patients after initial consultations
Responding to and managing patient enquiries by telephone, post or email
Maintaining the reception and waiting room areas to a high standard of cleanliness
Processing and reconciling payments
Making refreshments for patients and visitors
Scheduling patient follow up appointments
Proficient use of diagnostic scanning equipment
Adhering to company guidelines regarding policies and procedures
General admin duties

Minimum Requirements

Previous customer service and sales experience
Previous optical or clinical experience would be an advantage
Basic computer skills
Excellent organisation, interpersonal skills, initiative and communication skills.
