Ellie Four Eyes. That's my name. At least it was at school where the kids used to think my milk bottle NHS specs were totes hilaire. So hilaire that their sniggers stopped me wearing glasses for about five years, leading me to sit at the back of the class with vision worse than a blindfolded bat, dependent on my friends to read out what was on the blackboard. It's a wonder I managed to get any GCSEs at all.
Anyway, 15 (or so) years on and still not quite brave enough to wear my glasses around and about the place, I've taken to wearing contact lenses every day to correct my really very short-sighted eyes (-5.25 in my left eye and -4.75 in my left), which after 10 years of use have started to give me some serious dry eye problems after too many nights spent scratching my eyeballs as I drunkenly try to remove my lenses.
