  1. Corneal flap is created with a femtosecond laser

  2. Flap folded to the side & excimer laser changes corneal shape

  3. This corrects how light is focused by the eye, so sharpening vision

  4. Flap is then placed back over the cornea, no stitches are required

  2. Alcohol solution used to remove surface skin cells to expose the underlying surface

  3. An excimer laser corrects vision by changing corneal shape

  4. Light is then correctly focused by the eye, so improving vision

  5. A contact lens is left on the eye for several days during healing
