The Langham is the perfect stay for shopaholics. If you choose to stay here, you couldn’t be any closer to the centre of London’s retail. As well as the big names, turn right on Oxford Street and carry on walking for John Lewis and Selfridges.
Stately pillars and chandeliers dress the lobby while a tasteful placement of orchids and copious amounts of marble grace the rest of the property. The cherry blossom-effect in the mirrored lifts provide a subtle nod to The Langham’s prowess in the Asian Market.
The check-in is smooth and the service is slick yet warm. If you can, it’s worth upgrading to an Executive room. The upgrade gains you access to the Club-perks, which include all-day complimentary Perrier-Joët and food from the award-winning dining outlet situated downstairs.
The gym’s changing room has a small sauna and steam room. There’s little lounging room in the pool but, there’s plenty of space for doing laps. The bonsai tree motif on the slate tiled walls makes for a beautiful backdrop while you swim.
The rooms have neutral walls, with dark-wood furniture and plush fabrics. Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms are available as well as a range of suites and 5 apartments with kitchenettes.

The Z Hotel at Gloucester Place is a 10-minute walk from Baker Street and Marylebone Underground stations and a short walk to Selfridges on Oxford Street.
This hotel comprises five Listed townhouses along Marylebone’s Gloucester Road. The rooms have high ceilings and a great amount of space.
The white walls and original wood is beautifully matched with original mosaic-tiled floors and splashes of colour in the artwork and feature furniture.
The en-suites have frosted glass showers and all rooms come with a TV, kettle, hairdryer, shampoo and soap.
Then Z Hotel is designed for comfort. Although there aren’t many facilities, there is a communal cafe area with an array of daily newspapers and a large TV. There’s also a small courtyard outside.
Breakfast is included for all guests and it’s served from 6.30am until 11 am on weekdays and 11.30am on weekends. Plus, cheese and wine are served in the cafe at house number 23 from 5-8pm all week.
Due to the listed nature of the hotel, there’s no wheelchair access to the entrance. However, there are lifts once you get inside.
