What if I sneeze during surgery?

What if I sneeze during surgery? This is a very common question and we get asked once or twice each week! Nothing untoward will happen if you sneeze during treatment. In fact, in 15,000 procedures Mr David Allamby has performed, nobody has ever sneezed!

Perhaps we are able to suppress our sneeze reflex when we know we have to. However, even if you were to sneeze it would not affect the result.

In laser vision correction, the lasers are in fact only active for 10% of the total duration of the procedure. The excimer laser is tracked by an infra-red camera and compensates for any movement during the 4-10 seconds the laser is active.

Most of the procedure (90%) is performed by the surgeon manually. That is why you want a highly experienced expert specialist when it comes to your treatment.

Please call us on 0203 811 1576 if you have any additional questions or would like to discuss vision correction in more detail.
