Jenna Louise Coleman
Jenna Louise Coleman is an English actress. She currently plays Clara Oswald in the British television series Doctor Who.
Jenna was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, and began her acting career at an early age. Jenna was frustrated by being short-sighted and came to see David Allamby at Focus Clinic to restore her vision.
Jenna’s LASIK Procedure
Having always relied on contact lenses or glasses during her career, eye treatment was something that Jenna had considered but never taken the plunge until discovering Focus.
Jenna is delighted with the result of her treatment. Just 30 minutes after surgery, she could read the small 20/20 letters on the test chart.
One of the reasons Jenna chose Dr. Allamby as her surgeon is that our medical director has a 100% success rate for 20/20 vision for all common short-sighted prescriptions, including Jenna’s.
The procedure took just 10 minutes for both eyes and was performed under local anaesthesia using numbing drops. As a patient, Jenna was very cool and calm. She said the intervention was painless. She sat down afterwards with a cup of tea and phoned her friends and family telling them how happy she was.
About Jenna Louise Coleman
New Doctor Who companion Jenna Louise Coleman is best known for appearing in Emmerdale and Waterloo Road. Born in Blackpool, Jenna has been acting since she began applying for a place at drama school in 2005, when she was spotted by Emmerdale’s producers and given the role of Jasmine Thomas in the soap.
Her performance in the drama earned her best newcomer award nominations in 2006 and saw her tipped for best dramatic performance at the 2009 British Soap Awards. In the same year, she left Emmerdale and took a role in the BBC1 drama Waterloo Road, set in a school.
'Focus is just perfect. To be honest, that's just it!'
In common with over 10 million Britons, Jenna suffered from myopia, the medical term for short-sight, together with some mild astigmatism. It typically begins between ages of 6-18 and progresses often until the 20s. Once stable, most people are eligible for surgery. A comprehensive screening process is necessary to exclude patients who may be at higher risk.
As with Jenna, Dr. Allamby takes a very risk-averse approach and this has been rewarded with a 100% success rate for 20/20 vision for all typical short-sighted prescriptions.
After having LASIK advanced eye surgery at Focus, a technique pioneered in the UK by our founder and medical director Dr. David Allamby, Jenna no longer needs glasses for anything.
