MEDICAL RECORDS

Focus Clinic holds medical records confidentiality and shares them internally with appropriate staff who are involved in providing direct care for individual patients. The medical records of patients are also used internally by Focus Clinic to monitor and audit patient results and any complications post-operatively. Medical records are only ever disclosed to an external third party where the patient has requested the sharing of information, for instance, with their GP or other consultant.

ACCESS TO INFORMATION

In accordance with the GDPR you have the right to access any information that we hold relating to you. Additionally, patients have the right to access their medical record and to have inaccurate data corrected.

RETENTION PERIODS

The medical records of patients who have received treatment at Focus are retained for the purposes of providing patients with Focus’ comprehensive aftercare package which includes a 10 year guarantee and a lifetime of care promise.
For those people who have explicitly consented to receiving marketing communications from us, your personal information will be retained until you withdraw your consent. You are able to unsubscribe at any time to marketing communications in which case your personal information will be deleted as soon as reasonably practicable.

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL INFORMATION

Focus Clinic processes personal information including sensitive health information for direct patient care. The legal basis for this is GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and Article 9(2)(h). Focus Clinic processed personal information to be able to provide patients with the treatment they have entrusted us to carry out and to provide the necessary after care post treatment.
Focus Clinic also uses email to keep those on our mailing list updated with our news, special offers and the latest information and developments in vision correction. We always obtain the explicit consent of those on our mailing list before sending them any marketing communications. The legal basis for this is GDPR Article 6(1)(a).

POLICY AMENDMENTS

We may update this privacy policy from time-to-time by posting a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes.
