Meet The Team
Focus is a team of patient care counsellors, surgeons, optometrists, technicians and administrators. Everyone is committed wholeheartedly to patient care, safety and well being at all times. We hope you will find that you quickly become part of the Focus laser eye surgery family and are able to communicate any concerns to our friendly and knowledgable staff. Eye Surgery Surgeons
Our surgeons Mr Dave Allamby, Mr Ali Mearza, Mr Allon Barsam and Mr Mohammed Muhtaseb are tightly integrated within the team. They discuss and hold meetings with all the staff about laser eye surgery and our other procedures on regular occasions and are passionate about laser eye surgery and providing the best possible treatment and care for their patients. We often receive thank you cards from patients who name either David, Ali, Allon and Mohammed and it is the very ethos of the Focus family to ensure that as a patient you get to know your surgeon before your treatment.
Mr David Allamby
Mr David Allamby, FRCS(Ed), FRCOphth graduated from Sheffield University Medical School in 1987, and has specialised in ophthalmic surgery since 1989, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and then a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1993.

Mr Ali Mearza
Mr Ali Mearza FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Charing Cross Hospital, part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, specialising in Cornea, Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
Mr Allon Barsam
Mr Barsam MA FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the L&D Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a University Teaching Hospital of University College London (UCL) where he specialises in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Mohammed Muhtaseb FRCOphth
Mohammed Muhtaseb BSc(Hons), MBBS(Hons), FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is an honorary clinical teacher at the University of Wales in Swansea and is also a recognised teacher PgDip and MSc in Cataract and Refractive Surgery at the University of Ulster.

Barbara Cole
Clinic Administrator
Barbara joined Focus recently as our Lead Clinic Administrator. Barbara has worked in customer service for several years, and with her warmth and professionalism, she has already become a valued member of the Focus Family. You will get to speak to Barbara when you first contact Focus.
Malisa D’Souza
Business Development Manager
With over 5 years of experience in the refractive industry, Malisa is partly responsible for supporting and developing Focus Clinics.

Emma Delgado
Patient Care Coordinator
Emma recently joined Focus as Patient Care Co-ordinator.
With over 5 years of experience in laser eye surgery, Emma will be able to answer all your questions and help to organise your treatment.
You will meet Emma at your consultation, and she will be there to guide you step by step through your journey with Focus.
Jo-Ann Blanchard
Financial Controller
Jo-Ann has been head of accounts for Focus for 4 years, with over 20 years accounting experience. Jo-Ann has a keen interest in the refractive field and uses a wealth of knowledge to assist our patients.
Joanne Atalay
Clinic Co-ordinator
Joanne has been the clinic co-ordinator at Focus for 4 years, with 5 years experience in a clinic environment. She oversees the daily running of the clinic and will be the person who greets you for each appointment you attend, demonstrating a personal touch.
Agnes Borowica
Clinic Technician
Agnes joined Focus in 2010 as clinic technician with 3 years experience in refractive surgery, working with well established surgeons and laser platforms. Agnes is skilled at the use and maintenance of our laser and diagnostic equipment and maintains excellent clinical standards.
Hannah Wingate
Clinic Manager
Hannah joined Focus as Clinic Manager in May 2010, with over 7 years experience in the refractive field, 3 of those in management and training. Hannah oversees the day-to-day running of the clinic and maintains registration with the Care Quality Commission.
Ritu Jagpal
MSc MCOptom
With over 10 years refractive experience, Ritu joined the Focus team in August 2009. As our resident Optometrist, Ritu works closely with Mr Barsam, Mr Allamby and Mr Mearza to provide excellent clinical care to all our patients. You can meet Ritu at your consultation, and see her frequently for your aftercare.
